The University of Reading is looking for volunteers to help study how urban hedgehogs may be exposed to rodenticides in gardens. Researchers are seeking volunteers with access to a garden and a motion-activated wildlife or security camera.

Participation involves placing a leaking tin of sardines in the garden and recording nearby wildlife activity for 1–2 weeks. No prior experience is required, and full instructions will be provided.

Hedgehog Conservation Ireland is pleased to support this Citizen Science project! The data will be used for hedgehog conservation here in Ireland as well as the UK.
